LSBF Malaysia is celebrating the outstanding achievement of student athlete Erdina Mariah Hessly Hafiz, who secured three medals — gold, silver and bronze — at SUKMA 2026.

At just 18 years old, Erdina represented Selangor on the national sporting stage and delivered an exceptional performance across three rifle shooting events. The highlight of her campaign came in the Rifle 50m Prone Women’s Individual, where Erdina claimed the gold medal. She continued her success as part of the Selangor team, securing silver in the Rifle 50m 3 Position Women’s Team event and bronze in the Rifle 50m Prone Women’s Team event.

Three Medals in Her First SUKMA Appearance

Making the achievement even more significant, SUKMA 2026 marked Erdina’s first appearance at the competition.

SUKMA, or Sukan Malaysia, is Malaysia’s national multi-sport competition that brings together young athletes representing states across the country. Competing at this level requires not only sporting ability, but also discipline, consistency and the ability to perform under pressure.

Erdina demonstrated all three.

The Dedication Behind the Medals

Behind every medal is a journey of preparation. Competitive shooting demands exceptional concentration, precision and composure. Success can depend on the smallest details, making consistent training and mental discipline essential.

For Erdina, reaching the podium at her first SUKMA represents the culmination of the hours of preparation, focus and commitment required to compete among Malaysia’s talented young athletes. Her journey also demonstrates the determination required to balance the demands of higher education and competitive sport.

Celebrating Excellence Beyond the Classroom

Erdina’s achievement is a proud moment for the entire LSBF Malaysia community.

At LSBF Malaysia, education extends beyond academic achievement. Students are encouraged to develop their individual strengths, pursue their ambitions and embrace opportunities that allow them to grow both personally and professionally.

Whether excellence is demonstrated in the classroom, through entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, community engagement or sport, LSBF Malaysia believes in recognising the commitment and determination behind student achievement.

Reflecting on Erdina’s success, Dr Sajilal Divakaran, Director, LSBF College Malaysia, said:

“Erdina’s success at SUKMA 2026 is a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for the LSBF community. Her ability to pursue academic excellence while competing at the highest level of youth sport reflects the discipline, resilience and determination that we hope to nurture in every student. We are proud to support students in pursuing their ambitions beyond the classroom and look forward to seeing Erdina continue to excel in both her studies and sporting journey.”
